Known as Emma.

1871 Census. Emma was living with the Molenaars (sister Pheobe and brother-in-law Johannes) at 18 Lisson Grove, Kensington. They were not recorded in the 1881 Census.

1883. Migrated to Australia with mother Sophia and the family, arriving in Oct at the Port of Melbourne aboard the Ivanhoe.

1885-6. Emma was living in Sydney at Cameron St, Paddington with her brother Augustus William and his wife Georgina nee Pither.

1898. A Miss S.E. Tilbury paid rates in the Borough of Leichhardt, Wentworth Ward (1 shilling in the pound, plus a Lighting Rate of fourpence in the pound for the purpose of lighting the borough with gas). Lot 12, Seale St, enclosed land, estimated value £3. Further research needed.

1903. A Sophia Emma Tilbury, of Summer Hill, was registered on 6 Mar 1903 as being the owner of property No. 12,413 at Beach St, Coogee (1 acre 6 roods and ? perches) in the Borough of Randwick, adjoining the properties of P. Schreiterer, A. Graves and F.W. Goddard. Further research needed.

1935. Sophia Emma, an Old Age Pensioner of 94, died of bronchial pneumonia 5 Aug at 159 Morrison Rd, Ryde NSW. She had never married. She was buried the following day at the Church of England Cemetery, Waverley. Sophia’s nephew Walter Espenhahn, who was living at Yanco NSW at the time, was the informant of her death. Her death certificate states that Sophia Emma had been in the Australian Colonies (NSW) for 51 years.
